Product Description

After terrific fighting, lasting over several weeks, British troops succeeded in partially surrounding the town. The Huns set the town on fire and blew up most of the buildings, and then, under cover of the smoke and explosions, retired. The picture shows a patrol advancing across the Grand Place, dropping sentries to watch each of the road exits and approaches, not knowing the moment a Hun ambuscade would suddenly open fire.
