Untitled and unauthorised version of Mercator's world map of 1538, itself based on Oronce Fine's 1531 world map.
In upper cartouche: Quam hic vides orbis imaginem lector candide (...) vale.
In lower cartouche: Ne que ad nostram orbis divisionen (...) Cappadocie 7.
Salamanca (cca. 1500-1562) was succeeded as engraver and publisher by his business partner Antonio Lafreri, who published from the plate with his name substituted for "Sal."
