Harold Cazneaux took this portrait of Rose Soady around the time she married the artist Norman Lindsay. Born in Gosford, New South Wales, Rose met Lindsay in 1902, and became his principal model, business manager and printer for many of his etchings. When she was in her 70s, Rose wrote two memoirs, Ma and Pa (1963) and Model Wife (1967).
