Ernest Robinson (Rob) Hillier was one of Australias most sought-after fashion photographers in the 1940s and 50s. His technical abilities were complemented by his artistic eye, which he also used for spotting talent. In 1941 he discovered model Maide Hann, who would go on to grace billboards and magazine covers all over Sydney. This wonderful shadow portrait appears to be of Australian Yvonne Nightingale, another supermodel of the 1940s and 50s.
