Arch Tuckett, a Queenslander with a passion for racing, was one of the first people in New South Wales to own a midget speedcar. The first race meeting for midgets in New South Wales was at Wentworth Park in Glebe on 5 October 1935. As their name suggests, midgets were small custom-built cars that could be raced on smaller circuits. Like many of these cars, Tucketts appears to have been powered by a motorcycle engine.
