Product Description
In early January 1946, Sydney was struck by a heatwave that saw temperatures rise to 39.6 degrees Celsius. At least two people died, and more than 70 others collapsed from heat exhaustion. A Sun photographer took this photograph of local man George Adams in his shorts and singlet carrying remarkably intact ice creams and fish and chips for his family.
