David Mitchell amazed children and adults with the way he contorted his limbs into almost unimaginable positions. Adding to the drama were the somewhat macabre frog and monkey suits he wore during his shows. When this photo was taken in 1942 Mitchell was billed as Australias oldest contortionist. He was 73.
