A fledgling tuna industry sprang up in Eden, on the far south coast of NSW, in the late 1940s. When record catches made headlines in 1952, Pix magazine sent photographer Harry Freeman to cover the story. These photos are likely to be of the Green Products Ltd cannery. Given the amount of canned tuna on our supermarket shelves today, it may be a surprise to know that before the 1950s Australians had shunned tuna.
